We’ve interviewed experts of all kinds- debt, burnout, real estate, and taxes.
I thought, hey it’s about time we found a tax guy again and so, I go out there and do a search.
That’s where I found our next guest. He is a CPA and he is the co-host of a podcast- however, he doesn’t prepare personal taxes.
He is a comedian on the side- a comedian and a CPA, talk about complete opposites, right? He’s shared the stage with Weird Al, Christ Kattan, and Rob Schiender to name a few.
Anyhow, like I said he doesn’t prepare personal taxes- instead he is a controller and general manager of some medical office buildings.
What’s so interest about his day gig- is that he sees a lot of issues with succession planning and buying and selling private practices. So, I know we’re going to gain some really great insights today!
Please help me welcome Greg Kyte the controller and general manager for the Utah Valley Physicians Plaza.
In this podcast you will:
- Discover the creative way he conducts commercial real estate without using realtors
- Learn different ways to structure purchasing deals in real estate
- Find out how to protect yourself with earns outs versus notes
- Learn Greg's big piece of business advice (HINT: It may not be what you would expect)

Welcome back to Part 2 of our fireside chat with Tom Rairdon.
My friends, in this show, I try and dig deep to find interesting people. As a matter of fact, I featured this physician a few weeks ago in Three Blogs for Physicians That You Haven’t Heard Of.
Our next guest is one of those people. He is a physician, a father of five, and a bit of a finance, philosophy, and psychology junkie. He started blogging to help other high-income parents navigate the obstacles we all have in trying to raise well-rounded, well-adjusted, motivated, and well-educated kids.
You know… being an only child myself, I was blessed with having all of my parents attention. Since I have two beautiful girls… this kind of mission really hits home for me. I really love this mission for this blog. I didn’t have a sibling and so, I know I’ve missed some lessons along the way.
I can’t wait to hear about his journey and his advice for us!
Please help me welcome Dr. Tom Rairdon from High-Income Parents. Welcome, Tom!
In this podcast you will:
- Discover a big mistake Tom made while he started his investing strategies (Hint: it almost made family gatherings very uncomfortable)
- Learn Tom’s priorities on contributing to savings vs paying off debt
- Discover the ways he is saving for college for 5 children
- Gain knowledge on preparing for retirement at an early age

Friday Jun 04, 2021

I recently had the pleasure of having my folks in town. It is always so great spending time with them cause I know our time is limited. My parents are in their 70’s and who knows how long they will be here.
One of the things my dad loves to pass on is articles to me that he thinks I may like. The one that he passed on to me today is this article called “Got Cheap Genes?” This is by M.P. Dunleavey in the AARP magazine. Certainly, nothing I would usually be reading.
How you spend and save my very well be built into your brain. This is what that means for your marriage, your wallet, your quality of life.
The question is, is being cheap, a thrifty saver something that is in your genetic code?
In this podcast you will:
- Learn how your DNA make up can affect how you react to impulses
- Discover Dave’s view on Nature vs Nurture theory on thriftiness (HINT: It may not be what you are thinking)
- How do your genes influence your spending habits?
